TIRANA, Nov.3/ATA/ Tourism sector has made a significant contribution to increasing bank savings.
The cities of Vlora, Durrës and Lezha, in addition to the highest influx of tourists during the summer season, have recorded the largest increase in bank deposits in the third quarter of this year.
According to the Bank of Albania, data on the performance of bank savings according to districts, show that in the third quarter of this year, Lezha leads with the largest increase in deposits of 6.2%, compared to the previous quarter.
Followed by Tirana with an increase in deposits of 5.1%, Vlora and Durres respectively marking an increase of 4.4% and 3.1%. While Fier, Elbasan and Shkodra record a smaller increase in deposits.
In total, deposits in local currency amounted to ALL 530 billion, while deposits in foreign currency accounted for ALL 654 billion.//a.i/
