TIRANA, November 2/ATA/ The government proposed amendments to the law “On excises” provides for the drafting of a new schedule to increase the level of excise duty on tobacco and its by-products for the period 2022-2025, in order to approximate the level of excise duty applied in the EU, aiming and a unification of the level of excise duty between tobacco and its by-products.
Minister of Finance and Economy Delina Ibrahimaj presented the proposed changes in the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance.
“In the new excise schedule, an annual increase of 250 Lekë / kg, according to the unit for evaluation of tobacco, 5 Lekë per package. It is also foreseen an annual increase of 2 Lekë / ml for liquid nicotine, as well as an annual increase of 500 Lekë / kg for nicotine in bags, tobacco with heat and bottles, hookah “, said the minister.
From the increase of excise in the group of tobacco, it is predicted annual effect on the increase of excise revenues about 750 million Lekë. /j.p/p.s./
