TIRANA, Oct.24/ATA/ Increase of the quality of water supply throughout the country remains a priority of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku published today the priority projects funded through the new budget for 2022.
According to her, the National Program for the modernization of the water supply and sewerage sector is financed by World Bank, an investment worth 70 million euros
While the reconstruction of the internal water supply network in the Municipality of Durrës is estimated at 62 million euros, a fund made available by Albanian Development Foundation-AFD and the reconstruction of the water supply network in the municipality of Tirana is supported by a fund of 80 million euros made available by European Investment Bank- EIB.
Also, investment in 26 construction sites of the water supply and sewerage network are planned to be completed next year.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has drafted the national strategy of the water supply and sewerage sector, 2020-2030.
This strategy is an important document that will guide the Government in its efforts to improve the water supply and sewerage sector.
The purpose of the Water Supply and Sewerage Sector Strategy is to improve the quality provision of water supply and sewerage services to the citizens of Albania and to support the economic development of the country, based on the performance of a key infrastructure service. //a.i/
