Ibrahimaj: Fifth Eurobond due to be issued soon

TIRANA, October 13/ATA/ Albania’s Minister of Finance and Economy Delina Ibrahimaj stated today that, “By the end of the current month, Albania will issue the fifth Eurobond in international markets worth approximately 700 million Euros”.

The government approved today the draft decision on the Eurobond.

“This year the Eurobond is expected to be issued in the amount of 500-700 million Euros and we shall be ready to enter the market by the end of October or the beginning of November. Eurobond is not a process, which starts this year for the first time, it is the fifth time that Albania enters international markets to receive funds in foreign currency and in all cases this has been a test of the Albanian government in international markets, where the credibility of the government and the availability of all international markets to finance the government bond was assessed”, said Ibrahimaj.

She said that since the first time the Eurobond was issued, the financed value has been increasing, but also the bond interest rate has been decreasing. “This shows that over the years we have created a more stable and reliable economy for the markets,” she said.

Further on, the minister said that the experts are studying the markets so that to find the right moment for the issuing of the Eurobond./p.s./
