TIRANA, October 9/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media images from the castle of Tepelena that has been restored recently and its surroundings.

“Here’s a view of the castle of Tepelena that has been restored recently and the surrounding areas”, said Rama.

Tepelena Castle emerged from the absurd siege of illegal buildings, thorns and rubbish around the wall and it was liberated from the inside by fences and walls. The castle is getting transformed into a tourist destination, where buildings that were not demolished are set to be integrated into a project of characteristic dwellings, which will bring income to the inhabitants of the castle, like inns or small handicraft shops and products of the area.

The castle is located north of the city in a favourable geographical position for its protection. The current castle was rebuilt in 1819 over an area of 4-5 ha with three entrances and 3 towers./p.s./
