TIRANA, Sept 22 /ATA/ Deposits in the Albanian banking sector held by households and businesses that are resident outside Albania are growing significantly.
The Bank of Albania announces that non-resident deposits in the banking system increased to ALL 15.9 billion.
These deposits have increased by 18% from the beginning of this year and by approximately 13% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Non-resident deposits in the banking sector are mainly related to emigrants, who have chosen to deposit a part of their savings with the banks.
The Bank of Albania announces that the total of bank deposits at the end of July amounted to ALL 1.34 trillion, of which about 82% are household deposits.
