TIRANA, Sept 9 /ATA/ The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, received on Thursday in a meeting the new British Ambassador in Tirana, Alastair King-Smith.
The Commissioner thanked the Ambassador for the strong support towards the CEC and the electoral process in Albania by the Government of the United Kingdom.
Celibashi and King-Smith held an in-depth conversation on the post-election situation in the country and the possibilities of further cooperation as part of democratization of the Albanian society.
The British Ambassador Alastair King-Smith stated that the democratic reforms and the Albanian electoral issues remain a priority for the United Kingdom govt. and to that end he welcomes a close and professional cooperation with the CEC.
