TIRANA Aug 31 /ATA/- By I.Vata/ The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Evis Kushi and the Mayor of Elbasan, Gledian Llatja, have symbolically handed over the textbooks to the three children of a family in Elbasan.
“We had the pleasure of handing over free textbooks to the three children in the family of Fatmir Sinani, the father of twins Xhuel and Nuel who are in the second grade, and of Sev, a ninth grade student,” said Minister Kushi.
She added that this year the initiative “Free Textbooks” covers grades 8 and 9, providing textbooks to all students of 9-year public schools. Together with the 16 categories in need from grades 10-12, the total number of beneficiary students is 280 thousand.
The Minister has announced that starting from September 1, textbooks will be distributed to all students in all schools countrywide.
Meanwhile, Minister Kushi during the visit underlined the importance of vaccination for the normal course of the teaching process. “We hope that this school year will return to normalcy, as most teachers have been vaccinated,” – said Kushi. /j.p/sm/
