TIRANA, August 23/ATA/ Dibra Prefect Nexhbedin Shehu told ATA today that two fires are still active in Dibra region and there are efforts underway to isolate them.
Speaking about the fire situation in Dibra region, Shehu highlighted the work on the ground for the isolation of 2 active fires.
“The fire in the forest area in the village of Lundre, administrative unit Ulëz, Mat municipality was activated at 19:00 and spread over an area of 10 ha with oak forests. 12 firefighters, 10 local government forces, 10 volunteer forces and 10 forest workers have been engaged to extinguish the fire. The fire is burning fast and the difficult terrain makes it difficult the work of the ground forces. Intervention from the air is necessary,” he said.
Likewise, Prefect of Dibra Nexhbedin Shehu said that in the village of Kacni of the administrative unit of Selishte the fire is isolated, while in Balgjaj, there is still a fire and the relevant forces have been sent to extinguish.
“The fire in the village of Kacni is isolated in two hotbeds, in Balgjaj 1, territory of the municipality of Klos that is being monitored by 2-3 forces so that not to develop again, while the other hotbed in the territory of Dibra, the fire can spread again.
