TIRANA, Aug 23 /ATA/ – Armando, a local farmer in Kuçova, originally launched his milk processing enterprise in a 100-square meter facility. Determined to make his dreams come true and after having amassed experience in milk processing while living and working in Italy, Armando decided to return back home and start afresh in his hometown.
The Director of Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (ARDA) Frida Krifca on Monday visited the new factory built by Armando, who is now cooperating with more than 1000 local farmers.
“Armando started initially cooperating with only 50 local farmers, collecting their milk to produce mozzarella. Ten years later, amid countless challenges and difficulties that hardened him, Armando made his dreams come true by establishing his AGI 11 enterprise and his factory now covers an area of 1,000 square meters also thanks to the ARDA support through the IPARD II programme,” Krifca said.
Thanks to this assistance, the factory’s milk processing capacities expanded and technology improved by employing modern equipment in the refrigeration storage rooms to ensure product’s quality and water treatment of waters, as well as reduce costs.
“Armando collaborates with more than 1,000 local farmers who produce and sell milk. He has employed dozens of people to carry out various processes, and thanks the latest investment he now produces a wide range of products, including mozzarella, sour cream, creamy sauce with peppers, soft cheese and yellow cheese. In the meantime, he is experimenting to introduce new types of products soon,” Krifca said.
