TIRANA, August 19/ATA/ Albania and Israel mark today the 30th anniversary of establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Albania’s Foreign Ministry reminded on this occasion that, “Although the government of Albania recognised the state of Israel since 1949, the two countries managed to establish diplomatic relations only after the fall of the Iron Curtain”.
“Memorandum of Good Understanding for establishment of the diplomatic relations was signed in Tel Aviv on August 19, 1991”, said the ministry.
The ministry also highlighted the long and common history that the two countries share and which connects them in strong relations of friendship.
The ministry concluded by saying that as the two countries look toward the future, they can rely on these rather solid foundations to promote further cooperation and links between the two peoples./j.p/p.s./
