TIRANA, Aug 16 /ATA/ The Ministry of Health and Social Protection announces that in the last 24 hours 2183 tests have been performed, of which 200 citizens have tested positive for COVID-19.
According to MoHSP, the positive cases have been detected in the following municipalities: 45 cases in Shkodra, 20 in Durres, 16 in Lezha, 14 cases in Tirana, Pogradec, 12 in Malësi e Madhe, 10 in Divjaka, 9 in Vlora, 7 cases in Gjirokastra, Lushnja, 5 cases each in Saranda, Mallakastër, 4 cases each in Librazhd, Kavaja, 3 cases each in Vau i Dejës, Kukës, Kurbin, Fier, Tepelena, 2 cases each in Peqin, Përmet, 1 case each in Has, Mirditë, Dibër, Libohovë, Dropull, Memaliaj, Korçë, Berat, Elbasan.
“There are currently 2,981 active COVID-19 patients across the country. 47 patients are getting medical care at the Infectious Diseases Hospital. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, in the last 24 hours, a 53-year-old citizen from Tirana and an 80-year-old citizen from Elbasan have passed away, ” same sources say.
“Meanwhile, 27 citizens have recovered in the last 24 hours, putting the number of cured cases at 130,700 since the onset of the epidemic,” the ministry said.
