TIRANA, August 9/ATA/- The Ministry of Defence reported that, “The forest fire is still active in the village of Dukat i Ri, in Karaburun Peninsula. It is dangerous because it has spread in the area towards the Llogara National Park. The operation to extinguish the fire has resumed from the air since the early hours of the morning.”
Reporting about the situation of fires in the country, the Ministry of Defence issued a press release to say that, “For days, numerous operational forces, effective of the Armed Forces, fire-fighters, civil emergency workers and local services are working to extinguish fires in different areas of the country. “Despite the great efforts, some fires are still problematic.”
The other critical focus is the one at Rruna Peak, above the Kalimashi tunnel, where efforts have continued to keep the fire under control, so that the flames do not threaten homes. In the village of Thirrë in Fan of Mirdita, the fire does not pose a danger to homes, while work is underway to extinguish it. There was a difficult fire situation yesterday in the village of Patalej, Kolsh administrative unit, Mirditë municipality. Today the fire in the bushes continues, while the operational forces have been increased.
In the village of Corrush in Mallakastër, two fire spots have been isolated, but work continues to isolate the flames in three other active spots, which are in difficult terrain.
