TIRANA, August 4/ATA/- Minister of Culture Elva Margariti stated that the work is going on in the castle of Durrës, which in 2019 suffered significant damage from the devastating earthquake.
Margariti stated that, “Despite the hot weather, conservation and reinforcement work continues in the ¨C¨ Tower in Durrës Castle, damaged by the earthquake of November 2019. It is a project that started with the financial support of the Ambassador Fund for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, Swedish Agency for International Cooperation, scientific support of the World Monuments Fund and the Ministry of Culture.
The minister emphasized that the relevant bodies are following with devotion the work process in this important monument.
“This project is being implemented by CHwB Albania that has already carried out emergency stabilization in order to prevent further damage to the monument. There are also a series of analyzes necessary to determine the conservation interventions, which have started with the consolidation and repair of the foundation wall according to traditional techniques “, the minister said./p.s./
