TIRANA, August 3/ATA/- Head of Albania’s Civil Emergencies Agency Haki Çako stated today in a television interview from Dukat that today there are 3 helicopters operating and 500 members of the Armed Forces working to extinguish the fires.
“We are in operation, we will continue with all possible means, with all structures of local units, as you can see with helicopters, but also with other ground means. We have taken measures to prevent the damage caused to the houses or not to penetrate into other parts”, he said.
Asked if the helicopter took off late, Çako said that, “It was not late; we have been operating from the ground, from the air and with all possible means”.
Çako said that, “In general, the situation is under control with the exception of the fire here, which has taken on wide proportions, but also due to the difficult terrain, creates great difficulties for the movement of people or even vehicles. Anyway, the operation is underway.”
Asked how the situation is in Karaburun and Dukat, Çako said that, “Today, 3 vehicles will operate, among other vehicles of private operators. The forces of the Armed Forces today are on the ground about 500 forces together with all local government units and all other local structures”./p.s./
