TIRANA, July 28/ATA/ – The elected MP of the Democratic Party in opposition Jorida Tabaku stated today that the latest report on the Investment Climate of the State Department states that the economy of Albania is in crisis, Albanians collect less income at the end of the month as the country is less attractive for foreign investments.
“The main obstacle for the economy is the government which begins with corrupt procedures, lack of competition and even a total lack of transparency in the legal and fiscal process,” Tabaku said in a statement to the media.
“There is an absence of serious foreign investments because Albania does not offer any legal or economic security for investors. What an investor certainly finds in Albania, as the report claims, is corruption, absence of property security and at the same time abusive laws that favor government clients,” she said.
Tabaku underlined that, “For the DP, the fight against corruption starts with a free economy and fair competition, the fight against monopolies, against oligarchy and clientelism, against capture of the economy. We are convinced that only a state liberated from economic oligarchy can provide a market economy.”/p.s./
