TIRANA, July 26/ATA/ Pjetër Rraboshta is another prominent photographer in the Northern Albanian city of Shkodra. He has always been a photographer of common people and was very passionate about the tradition and civic culture of Shkodra.
His photographs, selected by the “Marubi” museum to be put on display at its premises in an exhibition dedicated to photographer, are of this sort.
His archive consists of about 16 thousand images, but only 80 of them have been selected to be exhibited. This archival fund was at the disposal of the photographer’s family and he has already donated all this fund to the “Marubi” photography museum.
In general, the theme of the photos is based on the lives of ordinary residents, or family celebrations and weddings in the suburbs of Shkodra.
The curator of this exhibition Zef Paçi has made this special selection worth visiting.
“For me, it was a very nice test to research for months in the archive set by the museum. When you look at these images, there come to mind experiences you had in your childhood. In the photos of the “Marubi ” you see things that you have seen before”, said Paçi.
Well-known photographer Pjetër Rraboshta developed his activity as a photographer during the communist regime in Albania. He was born in 1917 and passed away in 1987. /a.a/p.s./
