TIRANA, July 19/ATA/ The open week of mass vaccination of citizens over the age of 18 started today in all medical centres as well as in the vaccination points set up in context of the “Albania Smiles” campaign. ATA journalist was today in the vaccination centre set up at the national stadium “Air Albania” where citizens of different age-groups had come to receive the first dose or even the second dose of anti-COVID vaccine.
“I passed the Covid, but I wanted to get the vaccine. It is the first dose. There were no delays. Doctors say that even we who have passed the Covid should get the vaccine, because we are even more protected. That is why we have come. I think we should all get the vaccine to be more protected,” a citizen, who was waiting in line to be vaccinated, told ATA.
In the premises of the “Air Albania” stadium, today was noticed the presence of young people who were waiting to be vaccinated.
“I am 29 years old and I came to get the vaccine. I am getting the first dose and I think that like all the people I should do the same. There were no delays. While there are other viruses in circulation, at least we calm ourselves down psychologically,” said the 29-year-old.
Another girl, who was also in line waiting to be vaccinated, appealed to all young people to get the vaccine jab.
“It is the first dose and in the framework of the open days for vaccination of the population over 18 years old, today I came along with my fellow citizens. I am 30 years old and will be taking the first dose. There are no delays. Taking 10 minutes of your time is worth of it. This is a nightmare, a bad dream that the whole world is experiencing and I believe that if we are all vaccinated and achieve immunity, we will get rid of it and continue our lives, because it affects the economy, mental health, the way we are growing children. I personally believe in vaccines, in science and in the protocols of the Ministry of Health, so we should all be vaccinated from the age of 18 and all those who have pathologies and health problems should be vaccinated, too,” she appealed./p.s./
