Qafë Thorë – Theth road offers increased access and safety for tourists

TIRANA, July 18 /ATA/ The works on the construction of the Qafë Thorë- Theth road, 16 km long, which connects one of the most beautiful areas of the Alps with Boga and Shkodra, continue apace.

PM Edi Rama published on Sunday images from the construction site of this road.

“Good morning with the works that continue uninterruptedly on the axes to tourist destinations from north to south. This segment heads to the Albanian Alps. The Qafë Thora – Theth road is expected to enhance access and driving safety for tourists heading to the valley of Theth, ” Prime Minister said.

The project for this road is part of the investments in the sectorial tourism plan for the Albanian Alps region, which together with the tourism marketing strategy and the investment program on local infrastructure represent the Alpine Master Plan.

The project entails asphalt width of 4 – 4.75 meters and in the 3 most dangerous points that are vulnerable to landslides and avalanches, 3 tunnels ranging from 20 to -30 meters at length are under construction.

In addition to easing of traffic even during winter season when the village is cut off by snow, the road will provide higher driving safety. /a.a/sm/
