TIRANA, July 8/ATA/ Secretary General of the European Alliance of News Agencies – EANA, Alexandru Ion Giboi, sent a congratulatory message to Armela Krasniqi on the new position as Chairwoman of the AMA, after winning the Parliamentary vote decisively, gaining support even from some opposition members.
“I have been EANA colleagues with Ms Krasniqi since 2017, when she started her job with
ATA. After these four years of her mandate it is easy to observe the positive changes
Krasniqi brought to the Albanian news agency.
As recognition of the European-facing attitude of Ms Kransiqi, and due to her openly
supporting the principles of free media both during EANA events and during other
international events in which she took part, Ms Krasniqi was elected as a member of the
Board of the European Alliance of News Agencies in September 2019.
Since then, Armela Krasniqi has been a strong supporter of our Alliance, pleading for equality among members and promoting Albanian journalism.
I see Ms Krasniqi’s election as AMA Chairwoman as a normal evolution of her professional
career, and for this I congratulate her, wishing her the best of success in the years to come.
I am sure that my now-former colleague will make use of her extensive experience in the media to lead AMA towards an undeniably unbiased and professionally unquestionable
future, ” the message writes. //a.i/
