TIRANA, June 30 /ATA/ Freight processing statistics in the first half of 2021 look positive for the activity of the largest port in the country.
Referring to the data of Statistics Sector for the period January-May of this year, 299 merchant ships and 362 ferries with 1 million 757 thousand tons of goods in total were handled.
According to port statistics, the volume of import-export freight is 15% higher than that of the same period last year, with an increase of 224 thousand tons.
Coal, construction iron, wheat, and agricultural fertilizers are some of the main imported goods, which have arrived by ship in Durrës, while cement and sheet metal are the main “Made in Albania” products that are loaded on ships to be carried to other ports.
