“No new patient for days”/Çomo: Vaccination, a powerful weapon to minimize COVID-19 cases

TIRANA, June 17/ATA/ Director of the Infectious Diseases Hospital Najada Çomo emphasized today that, “The number of patients admitted to the hospital is decreasing and if the number of patients admitted decreases, the morbidity in the population has also decreased”.

Speaking to the media, Çomo said that, “There is a reduced number of patients which makes us all optimistic. Certainly, we who are here are much more optimistic because we have seen the very serious problems that COVID-19 infection has presented to patients.”

Çomo stressed that, “There is a decline in the number of cases like never before in this entire period of time since March 9, 2020”.

“Shall we reach zero?” I cannot say this, because zero is a difficult figure, but it continues to decrease and we have some days that we do not have new patients. This is an indicator of the decreasing trend of the number of hospitalized persons “, she added.

Dr. Çomo said that, “Let us not forget that the vaccination process must continue because it is a powerful weapon to stop or minimize the number of infected people”.

Çomo said that, “Currently, we do not have any intubated person, but this is a disease that does not allow you to make many predictions.”

Speaking about the coming autumn and winter, Çomo stressed that, “I would be happy if there were no more cases in Albania, but it is judged that there may be cases in the fall. However, vaccination is an important process and can minimize what may come in the fall “./ ks / jp /p.s./
