TIRANA, June 16/ATA/ Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament Elisa Spiropali stated today that the Socialist Party is ready to cooperate with the opposition on all issues, but also for the consensual president.
Regarding the dismissal of the President and cooperation with the opposition, Spiropali said that the right moment for the dismissal of President Ilir Meta was a long time ago.
“In my opinion, when the President of the Republic gave all the signs and violated the Constitution, we nevertheless voted a resolution in the Assembly in 2020 for his unprecedented acts, so dismissal of the President is just establishing legitimacy in the institution of the Presidency. Ilir Meta is no longer the President of the Republic”, she emphasized.
Regarding cooperation with the Democratic Party for the new name of the President, Spiropali said that, “we are definitely ready”.
“PM Rama has expressed his readiness to cooperate with the opposition at all levels to find a common national agenda for many issues, not only for the issue of the President of the Republic, but also to set clear criteria, to discuss consensually “who can be the president”, stressed Spiropali.
Regarding the DP-SP relations from September, Spiropali said that, “The good news is that the opposition will be in the Assembly, will attend committees’ sessions, and will do their duty which they had abandoned”. /j.p/p.s./
