TIRANA, June 15/ATA/ The Albanian Competition Authority (ACA) has decided to open an in-depth investigation into the market of import and wholesale of chemical fertilizers.
In a press release, ACA said that, the companies Arli International, Agro Blend, MBM, Eco-Green, Lila, Agro-Mens, Çaça, IAM, Agrohelp-sa and Besnik will be subject to investigation.
“The in-depth investigation comes after the preliminary investigation procedure, decided in March of this year will include the period from January 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021”, ACA said.
Given the importance of fertilizer products for farmers in soil fertilization and plant cultivation, the Competition Authority said that, with regard to the analysis of this market have been considered three main products used in the plant cycle such as: DAP (Diammonium hydrogen phosphate) used when fertilizing agricultural land. This product is used seasonally, mainly in the first 6 months of the year. Meanwhile, nitrate and urea are used during plant growth, mainly throughout the year. //a.i/
