TIRANA, June 12 /ATA/ – High school seniors gathered in front of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports building in Tirana on Saturday to protest over “the difficult” mathematics exam a day ago.
High school graduates are protesting due to “having taken exams containing subjects they never learned” and they are calling on authorities to allow them repeat the mathematics exam or the grading system be reviewed.
“The mathematics exam was very difficult. The questions were all copied from the internet. The exercises were for a very advanced exam level. We want the point limit be decreased due to the extreme difficulty of the exercises,” one of the protesting students told the media.
Around 34,000 high school seniors sit the final secondary-school mathematics exam a day ago. The exam had a total of 60 points and the minimum point limit is 15 points.
