TIRANA, June 11/ATA/ Tirana officially opened yesterday the tourist season for 2021, after a difficult pandemic year and great losses for the tourism industry.
At the opening of the tourist season event, not only in Albania, but in all Albanian-speaking cities of the Western Balkans region, Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj invited everyone to consider Albanian tourism and consume Albanian.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to spend your holidays in Albania, in Ulcinj, to visit Tuz, Tetovo or the Presevo Valley, to meet people there, if we have never climbed a mountain, to go to Prizren, to learn history , but also to see the beauties of nature. I strongly hope that as Albanians we will embrace this opportunity. I know that people are a bit cynical and say: “We do not need patriotic tourism”, but we in Albania are witnesses that this patriotic tourism saved our industry for years. If it were not for our brothers and sisters from all over the region, who would spend their holidays in Albania, we would have gone bankrupt in the tourism sector. As long as we survived during the hardest year, I am sure we will shine this year, which is a better year. Therefore, please consider Albanian tourism, Albanian spending, Albanian consumption, Albanian visits and a fantastic Albanian experience anywhere in the region, “said Veliaj.
Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi and the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) Majlinda Bregu were also invited to the event, which was conceived as a meeting between the authorities of several countries in the region.
Well-known artists from Albanian-speaking lands such as Emina Cunmulaj, Sabri Fejzullahu, Grupi Elita 5, etc. have also taken part in the promotion of our regional tourism./p.s./
