Bushka: President Meta has repeatedly violated Constitution

TIRANA, June 9/ATA/ SP MP, Klotilda Bushka stated at the today’s plenary session that, President of the Republic, Ilir Meta has repeatedly violated the Constitution.

“We convened twice for the same President and for the same reason, the serious violations of the Constitution commited by Ilir Meta. In June 2019, after the decree on the local elections was annulled, the Albanian Parliament, through a resolution, called on the President of the Republic Meta to reflect in order to return the institution of the President to the limits of the competencies recognized by the Constitution, as well as not to take any other action on a flagrant violation of the Constitution.”

“The Albanian Parliament has the duty to find an adequate response to the constitutional violations committed by the Head of State exercising the competence provided in Article 90 of the Constitution which enables the Assembly and then the Constitutional Court to assess serious violations of the basic law of the country. The Assembly’s task is to prevent the setting of precedents of abuse of constitutional powers in the future by anyone who exercises the powers of President,” she said. //a.i/
