Medical staff undergoing training at summer healthcare centres, rapid tests available to every visitor

TIRANA, June 6 /ATA/ – The Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu announced Sunday that 29 primary health care facilities across the country’s tourism destinations will be available around the clock starting June 15.

While closely monitoring a training programme for the medical staff at the summer health care centre in the coastal town of Shengjin, northwest Albania, Health Minister announced that rapid test for SARS-CoV-2 diagnosis will be available in all summer health care facilities.

“We started the training programme of our medical staff at the primary health care facility here in Lezhe. It is worth highlighting that rapid tests will be available in all the summer health care centres in all tourism destinations across the country. This is the reason why health workers are undergoing training to deliver first aid and conduct COVID-19 rapid testing,” Manastirliu said.

Health Minister also said that measures are being put in place to supply the healthcare facilities with medicines and medical materials, as well as the required supplies for the rapid testing.

“Providing rapid testing at these health care centres will help us to detect suspected coronavirus cases in advance and isolate them. This will help the public health surveillance system for COVID-19 already operational throughout the country,” Manastirliu said.

Health Minister renewed her appeal to citizens to abide to the new anti-coronavirus measures and businesses to strictly comply with the safety guidelines during the summer season.
