TIRANA, May 28/ATA/- The construction sector, supported by the Reconstruction program is accelerating the momentum of development by becoming one of the main contributors to the country’s economic and employment growth, and improving the quality of life by providing modern urban infrastructure.
According to the Albanian Institute of Statistics-INSTAT data, in the first quarter of 2021, 251 construction permits were issued for new buildings, out of 184 permits approved in the first quarter of 2020, marking an increase of 36.4%.
The total area in square meters of construction permits issued for new buildings in the first quarter of 2021 was 599.446 m2, up from 333.645 m 2 issued in the first quarter of 2019, increasing by 79,7 %.
In the first quarter of 2021,, the approximate value of construction permits issued for buildings and engineering works was ALL 26.6 billion, up from ALL 13.4 billion in the first quarter of 2020, marking an increase of 98,9 %. //a.i/
