TIRANA, May 28/ATA/- The acting chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha reacted to the statement of the head of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Bujar Nishani, who said during a TV interview that, “Basha has been aware that US State Department had declared former president and former PM Sali Berisha “persona non grata”.
In his reaction, Basha said that “I started the campaign for the elections within the party with the conviction that we must come out of this race stronger and more united. I have rejected the reactions that provoke discord, even though every day I have been subjected to untrue and unjust personal and political attacks.”
“Everything has a limit. Therefore, today I reject with disgust the grave slander of Bujar Nishani. Personal anger and resentment have a limit. But today that limit has been exceeded, because it is related to an issue that has deeply affected not an individual, not Sali Berisha but our entire party,” Basha stressed.
“These grave slanders only serve those who do everything to divide the Democratic Party, and I will not allow that,” he added. //a.i/
