TIRANA, May 27/ATA/ Former prosecutor Shkëlqim Hajdari considered good news the reopening of investigation by Tirana Prosecutor’s Office for the assassination of Aleks Nika on January 21, 2011.
He emphasized that the reopening of investigation is good news as all sensitive issues today that have not received final solutions is good to be investigated.
“Nobody will suffer anything from the investigation except for those who were implicated in the events. Then, the prosecutors did not have the will for the investigations to be independent, to be objective and impartial, so in this sense the fresh investigation into January 21 is a great relief for the families who have lost their loved ones. It is a relief for the new justice that no matter how late, there comes a moment when for the responsible people who have committed serious crimes, justice is done”, he said.
Regarding the question that the investigations are reopened only for Aleks Nika and Hekuran Deda, Hajdari said that, “It has been opened for these two victims because apparently the police have presented evidence, and one of these is the bullet examination that was found in Aleks Nika’s body connected to the cartridge and then to the weapon that may be the perpetrator of the murder. The prosecution is not prevented from conducting other in-depth investigations.”
“10 years ago, investigations were made in extremely difficult and severe conditions with a terrible political pressure and many things at the scene have not been fixed, not because of the fault of the Tirana First Instance prosecutors, but due to political pressure,” he said. /re/p.s./
