TIRANA, May 28 /ATA/ – Volume of cargo handled at Albania’s seaports recorded a significant growth in April, surpassing the pre-pandemic level, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT).
According to INSTAT data, volume of freight loading/unloading in ports, in April 2021 is 451.6 thousand metric tonnes, rising 27.7 % compared to April 2020.
Compared with the monthly average for April period 2018-2020, the volume of freight loading/unloading in ports increased by 24.6 %.
In the first four months of 2021, the volume of freight loading/unloading in ports is 1,531.9 thousand tonnes, up by 18.1 % compared to the first four months of 2020.
Port of Durres, Albania’s largest seaport, is accounted for the largest share of cargo handling, followed by the port of Vlora, Saranda and Lezhe.
