ADAC: Albania, coronavirus risk-free tourist destination

TIRANA, May 23 /ATA/ – Most holiday destinations around the world are still considered to be corona-risk areas and many countries that would be safe as travel destinations ban tourists from entering their territory.

However, this is not the case with Albania.

“Albania is not seen as a classic holiday destination for German visitors, but it has a lot to offer,” according to ADAC, Europe’s largest motoring association.

“Albania offers a grandiose and mostly still untouched mountain world invites you to go hiking, picturesque towns testify to a rich, historical past, and the Mediterranean coast offers amazing beaches and good bathing opportunities,” ADAC writes on its website.

With the number of fresh coronavirus infections sharply falling in recent weeks, the country is no longer a risk area.

The Foreign Office’s travel warning has also been lifted.

“Holidaymakers from Germany can freely enter Albania. A negative coronavirus test is not required and no quarantine is imposed in the country,” ADAC writes.

“Entry is possible across all land borders or by air. There is a direct flight line to the capital Tirana from Frankfurt. Hotels, campsites and restaurants are open under hygiene rules,” the Europe’s largest motoring association wrote on its website.
