TIRANA, May 21/ATA/ Minister of Finance and Economy Anila Denaj stated today that the majority will keep its promise to increase the minimum wage up to 40 thousand ALL within the 3rd term of the government.
During a media interview, Denaj said that the promise to increase the minimum wage is based on a clear strategy of where 2030 Albania should go.
“We found the minimum wage at 22 thousand lekë in 2013, we brought it to 30 thousand lekë and in the next 4 years we will bring it to 40 thousand lekë. This aims to increase the value of the work and it increases through these instruments, which are not Albanian “, said the minister.
According to Minister Denaj, the increase of the minimum wage also increases the contributions for pensions.
The minister commented on the promise of the Democratic Party in the election campaign where it was emphasized that contributions will be reduced and pensions will be increased.
Currently, she announced, today the pension scheme is in deficit and the budget contributes about 50 billion. This comes from informality, low minimum wage or even population structure.
“There would be no successful pension reform by increasing pension expenditures from the state budget. If today it is 50 billion lekë, they would bring it to 100 billion lekë”, the minister asked the question./p.s./
