TIRANA, May 17 /ATA/ The member of Democratic Party leadership, Fatbardh Kadilli, who also announced his candidacy for Democratic Party head, stated on Monday that the leadership of Lulzim Basha for 8 years in a row cost the party dearly, damaging his credibility as a leader.
In a televised interview, Kadilli said that Basha has lost the possibility of re-running in the elections for the Democratic Party head and he is leading the party into a downward spiral by closing his political cycle.
“Basha has closed his political cycle with the April 25 election output. Basha has had several opportunities at the DP leadership to show how capable he is and he failed. The best performance is the electoral outcome of 2015, after that moment he backslid in personal and political aspect. If Basha wants to drag his feet in politics, then it is his decision,” he added.
According to Kadilli, his opposition was conceived of as an opposition fighting for a second place.
“Prime Minister becomes the one who comes in first in the elections. From the beginning he is completely wrong in concept. This country needs serious offer and credible figure. In DP there are at least 1000 people more capable than Basha and me, the issue is who plucks up the courage to propose something new. If we follow Basha, we risk going into the downward spiral, only the speed remains to be seen. I undertake to revitalize this party.”
According to him, it is unlikely to win the election with promises of wage raise, but with credible alternatives how to govern the country better.
