TIRANA, May 15 /ATA/ Thanks to support for agricultural sector, agricultural production in the country recorded an increase that is reflected in agricultural import-agricultural export ratio, while the area of arable land has doubled.
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, arable land has doubled in surface area compared to 7 years ago as a result of large-scale investments in irrigation.
In Albania in 2013, about 125 thousand ha of land were cultivated, while today the cultivated area has expanded to 250 thousand ha and there is still surface to be tilted, because we will continue to build more irrigation and drainage systems.
