TIRANA, May 11 /ATA/ – Former President Bujar Nishani said Tuesday that the decision of the main opposition Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha not to recognize the April 25 elections result was insincere.
In a TV interview, Nishani said that the statements against the elections result, while the MP-elect want to enter parliament, are an insult to the DP structures and the public opinion.
Answering to the question about the DP decision not to recognize the result, Nishani said “this is not a sincere attitude and a rhetoric that insults DP structures and the public opinion.”
“If he would refuse to recognise the elections result, he shouldn’t enter parliament. However, he has stated that he will join parliament. Thousands of citizens were involved to bring about change, but by refusing to accept the result you are refusing to recognize the institutions created after the elections. It is an insincere statement,” former President said.
