TIRANA, May 5/ATA/ EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi stated today, during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama at Rinas Airport, that, “No “non paper” on the change of borders in the Balkans is true, adding that no serious person would put such a thing on the table to discuss, especially in this region where we are.”
While Prime Minister Edi Rama said that, “I have given my opinion and I will not get tired of repeating that we must reduce the production of stories and increase the production of the economy.”
“Our third mandate will be, among other things, very focused on reducing the production of stories that here in Albania for 30 years we produce at full capacity, taking extremely much energy from people,” Rama said.
Regarding the Balkans, Rama said that, “My vision and conviction is proclaimed, Regional Schengen is the way we should move every day, while civilly discussing our disagreements.”
“Our disagreements should not prevent us one day from supporting together the economic growth, the improvement of the social situation of the people in this region, the construction of a new basis for the future that will serve all the children of the region”, said Rama.
He stressed that “Regional Schengen is a vision and a project fully embraced by the EU, fully supported by the Commission and the Commissioner is a concrete contributor to this project with the investment plan.”
“We must Europeanize and we must not re-Balkanize while we are in the middle of the road between Balkanization and Europeanization. So let’s focus on things that have a direct bearing on people’s lives, on the lives of our peoples, on the future of our countries, while conflicts take their time to resolve. I strongly agree with the Commissioner that any attempt to give magic keys that open the doors of the future with a drop of a pencil leads only to what we have seen in the past of the Balkans and that should never be repeated,” Rama said. . /j.p/p.s./
