TIRANA, May 1 /ATA/The Archbishop of Tirana, Durres and all of Albania Anastas Janullatos wished a Happy Easter with a message to the Orthodox believers.
Archbishop Janullatos states that “The glorious celebration of Easter invites us to shine with joy, liberated from the bondage of deadly passions, from every dark element, hidden in the depths of our ego.”
“The events of Christ’s crucifixion are not only related to the frightening suffering filled with endless injustice and wickedness, but above all, they are linked to an extraordinary hatred of the religious leaders who triggered the uncontrolled hostility of the crowd. But all these were overcome by the Resurrection of Christ, without deafening noise and with peace.
“Inspired and empowered by the glorious celebration of Easter, which is above all the celebration of universal reconciliation, let us try to make peace in person, forgiving even those who hate us, even if it seems difficult to us.”
The resurrection of Christ proclaims the victory of life over death and over all destructive passions and invites us to enjoy our deliverance from their power. And in a world plagued by deadly hostility and insensitivity, let us become warriors against hatred and its various variants. And, with unwavering faith, let us strive to strengthen the union, reconciliation, love, unity, harmonious coexistence of peoples and nations.
