Quarantine for citizens entering Albania from Greece and North Macedonia/Manastirliu: Clear technical decision

TIRANA, April 21/ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu considered a clear decision that of the Committee of Experts establishing a two-week quarantine for citizens entering Albania from Greece and North Macedonia.

She stressed in a television interview that the quarantine decision does not mean a closing of borders, but a quarantine to ensure that there is no increase in numbers of people infected with the virus.

“The decision taken is a purely technical decision, based on the spread of cases starting from last month, seeing the spread of new cases in both countries, Greece and North Macedonia, and evaluating and always anticipating what can happen after 2-3 weeks. You know what impact Easter has on the whole epidemic situation. Christmas had a very big effect in increasing cases. The decision for the 2-week quarantine is not closing the borders, it is a controlled movement of citizens”, said Manastirliu./p.s./
