TIRANA, April 10 /ATA/ The Bank of Albania announces that non-performing loan dropped to 8.15% in February this year, compared to 8.2% at the end of January 2021.
According to BoA, Albania’s non-performing loan is almost at the same levels as in the corresponding period a year ago, which was heavily impacted by pandemic-induced economic crisis.
The stock of non-performing loans is currently estimated at approximately ALL 50 billion or slightly more than EUR 400 million.
The banking system continues lending and the non-performing loan ratio has been stable for more than a year now.
Bankers say the gradual easing of restrictions at European and global level is expected to stimulate the vital sectors of Albanian economy, such as tourism, transport and related activities, which will boost lending and economy.
