New Vlora River road, Gusmar-Kuç segment to turn Upper Laberi region into tourism hub

TIRANA, April 10 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama underlined Saturday that important road infrastructure projects will create conditions for the development of tourism and give an impetus to the growth of local economy in the country’s southern parts.

“The Vlora River road and the segment linking Gusmar and Kuç areas will turn Upper Laberi region from the country’s most isolated area into a tourism hub,” PM Rama said in his remarks at an electoral campaign meeting in Vlora, adding that “construction of Vlora River road is underway, whereas construction of Peshkëpi- Selenice kicked off today.”

“A good part of Vlora River road will complete soon, delivering this way on a long-cherished dream of local residents. All the previous administrations, including Enver Hoxha, had promised to construct this road but they all failed,” Rama noted.

He said that “this road is now a fact, while construction of the road between the area of Gusmac and Kuç is also nearing completion and the new road will transform Upper Laberi area into a hub of tourism.”

Rama said the area is the centre for transformation of tourism industry and the country’s economy.
