TIRANA, March 15 /ATA/- The Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha was today in the city of Vora where he held meetings with the local residents whose houses were damaged by the devastating earthquake of 2019.
After getting acquainted with this concern of the citizens, Basha pledged that the government that will come out of the April 25 elections will have reconstruction as its main priority. He also said that his government will quickly distribute cash to all those families who can build, repair, or rebuild the house by themselves from scratch in rural areas.
“The whole reconstruction process launched by the current Socialist government is a failure because if they would want, people are eager to help. The first thing they would do was to provide them with money so that they could build their own houses. They did not do this because they wanted to make tenders to steal, tenders given to friends or brothers of MPs. Even here in Vora, it is applied the same scheme, it is the same scheme as everywhere in Albania, they lie from morning till night and people are still living in tents”, he said./p.s./
