PRISTINA, March 14 /ATA/ – Kosovo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora announced Sunday it has officially opened its Embassy in Jerusalem based on the Washington agreement on September 4, 2020, where mutual recognition between the Republic of Kosovo and the State of Israel was formalized.
A statement by the Foreign Ministry said that the move was made after the establishment of the diplomatic ties with Israel on February and Kosovo has now officially opened its Jerusalem-based embassy in the State of Israel.
According to the statement, Israel’s Foreign Minister Gabriel Ashkenazi unveiled the plaque of the Kosovo embassy in Jerusalem during a ceremony marking the establishment of the diplomatic ties between the two countries.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed the Charge d’Affaires in Israel to place the plaque unveiled by Minister Ashkenazi, along with the Kosovo flag in the building of the Kosovo Embassy in Jerusalem. The placement of the state plaque and flag at the Kosovo Embassy in Israel reflects the commitment of the Government of Kosovo to fulfil its commitment to establish a diplomatic mission in Jerusalem. The Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Jerusalem will be strongly committed to increase bilateral cooperation and strengthen the international subjectivity of the state of Kosovo,” the Ministry said in its statement.
