TIRANA, March 6 /ATA/ Fier hospital has benefited a string of investments in recent years, offering modern settings and a higher number of services and unlike before, the number of referrals to the hospitals of Tirana has significantly dropped.
In an interview with ATA, the director of regional hospital of Fier, Nevila Shuke, said that, “today the regional hospital of Fier offers 10 services.”
“The emergency admission part is covered by the staff that is more in contact and triage on Covid cases. Approximately 150 cases and the 127 calls are handled by the emergency staff. The regional hospital of Fier has all the human resources, including the pulmonologists, infectious disease doctors and nurses for the management of the whole situation, ” – said Shuke.
According to her, the hospital of Fier currently focuses on the treatment of post-Covid cases. “Currently, the situation management consists of services in the triage and treatment of postCovid complications. Family service is also provided through 127, which enables the coordination of the primary care physician, family physician and specialist doctors of the Fier regional hospital. ”
Shuke said that a number of investments have been made in the hospital of Fier.
“In the hospital of Fier, many new services have been set up in the last 8 years. One of the services that has taken precedence is the hemodynamics service, which in 2020 handled 750 cases. The chemotherapy unit has been also set to operation to serve women suffering from malignant tumor who no longer go to Tirana as they once did, but access the service near their place of residence.”
Standards in medical devices have significantly improved. New devices have been installed in our hospital such as x-ray imaging, scanner, mammography, which will greatly help with early detection of breast cancer and many other investments related to improvement of service standards and working conditions for doctors and medical staff of Fier, “director Nevila Shuke said.
