TIRANA, March 3/ATA/ “The resolution that was approved in principle by the European Parliament recommending to the Council to hold an intergovernmental conference with Albania is also a result of implementation of the Justice Reform”, stated today Minister of Justice Etilda Gjonaj in a television interview.
Gjonaj said that the Justice Reform has not only got evaluations by the SP, but is also recognized by the international community.
Gjonaj explained that there have been noticed some problems and this has led to the request for some changes which do not affect the architecture of the Justice Reform, nor the principles guaranteed by the Justice Reform.
“There are some changes that are supposed to increase the efficiency of the justice system to reduce the volume of numerous cases that are already pending in the Supreme Court, to increase the efficiency of the Courts of Appeal with pending cases that have been there for several years and at the same time to unlock some processes where difficulties have been encountered by the new justice institutions, which do not undo the architecture, the main principles of the Justice Reform “, said Gjonaj.
Gjonaj clarified that the gaps created by Vetting with dismissals of many judges and prosecutors in the justice system will be gradually replaced./p.s./
