TIRANA, March 2 /ATA/ The well-known composer Agim Krajka passed away last night at the age of 83.
During his long career, Krajka has created pieces in light music, folk music, classical music and soundtracks of many Albanian films.
The sad news was given by his son Ulis Krajka, who said, “I wish the soul of our dear father rests in heaven “.
Krajka’s creativity is voluminous. The master has composed hundreds of songs, folk dances and many pieces for symphony orchestra.
His creativity got an added value with the soundtracks of many films which he composed during the 70s and 80s. Cinematographic masterpieces such as “The Happy Couple”, “Lady from the City”, “A Friend from the Village”, etc., would not have a special place in the history of our cinematography, without the soundtracks that the Grand Master Agim created.
He participated in many music festivals until the last festivals after the ’90s, starting with the famous song “Hiccup”, sung by Vaçe Zela at the First Radio Song Festival in 1961. He has been honored with over 15 awards.
Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj sent a message of condolence describing Agim Krajka as the brilliant composer who left behind a treasure for Albanian art./k.s//a.a/p.s./
