TIRANA, February 24 /ATA/ Minister of Agriculture Milva Ekonomi, held a bilateral meeting today with her Turkish counterpart Bekir Pakdemirli during which they signed a grant agreement on the donation by Turkey of some equipment to help Albania deal with flood situations.
“I positively assess the gift of equipments that help us cope with the flood situation in agricultural lands, both with irrigation and drainage of arable land. I consider also important the transfer of Turkish agriculture expertise so necessary for Albanian agriculture “, said Ekonomi.
On his part, Turkish Minister Pakdemirli expressed his satisfaction that he was in Albania, which he described as a friendly country. The Turkish counterpart said that today he met with the country’s Prime Minister Edi Rama.
“What we have just signed with the Minister of Agriculture is an aid package, an aid grant to protect against any natural hazards. We would very much like the equipments, which are on the way, to be here before us. We are committed to continue cooperation with the Albanian side, mainly in the exchange of information and knowledge, and at the same time we will stand by you with all our possibilities. I believe and I hope that very soon we will have cooperation between the two universities, bridges of cooperation will be built in the field of university education as well “, said the Turkish minister./j.p/p.s./
