TIRANA, February 23 /ATA/ Employment in the banking sector has increased along with its steady consolidation in recent years.
At the end of 2020, there are 6,558 employees in the banking sector, an increase of 3% compared to a year ago, the Albanian Banking Association announced.
The banking sector in Albania is well-capitalized and thanks to the regulatory measures taken, has managed to avoid the negative effects of the Covid pandemic.
The main indicators of this sector are within the expectation levels of the Bank of Albania, where among the main ones are a decrease of 0.3% of the loan ratio in 2020, the increase of banks’ profit and positive deposit and lending figures.
There are 12 banks operating in our country that have 416 affiliated branches located in urban and rural areas of Albania. /j.p/p.s./
