Basha: People need state’s help, Rama focusing on propaganda only

TIRANA, Feb 14 /ATA/-  The main opposition Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha said Sunday that the Prime Minister Edi Rama had failed to deliver on all his promises he made eight years ago.

In a press statement, Basha listed a string of promises the government head had vowed to deliver when  he was elected to office eight years ago, citing “creation of 300.000 new jobs, universal health care system, removal of VAT on basic foods, cut in electricity prices, opening the accession negotiations with the EU, reduction of the public debt, increasing public spending on education to 5% of GDP, legalization of informal buildings for free, building water irrigation systems for every land plot and the promise to return emigrants back home.”

“Eight years ago, Rama pledged health care to be provided for free to everyone, but he failed to do so and the country’s health system has collapsed. Four years ago, Rama pledged he would reduce living costs, but the latter just keep rising. He is now making more empty promises,” Basha claimed.

“It is time to change. It is time to remove Rama from power and work for the people. For several months now, I am working together with best specialists to draw serious plans on creation of jobs for Albanian citizens in all areas, economy, education, health, agriculture,” DP chairman stated.,

According to him, anytime people need the state’s help, Rama chooses to resort on propaganda only.
